Dr. Sameer Dani is one of India's most senior and accomplished interventional cardiologists, with a career spanning over 30 years, numerous firsts in Gujarat's cardiac care, and internationally recognised research - including India's first clinical use of a drug-coated balloon technology in 2014. He is Founder, CEO, Head of the Department of Cardiology, and Chief Interventional Cardiologist of Apollo CVHF Hospitals, and also serves as Director of the Department of Cardiology at Apollo Hospitals, Gandhinagar, Programme Director for DrNB Cardiology at Apollo Hospitals, and Honorary Cardiologist to H.E. the Governor of Gujarat.
Before founding Apollo CVHF, Dr. Sameer Dani served as Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology at the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre, Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad - Gujarat's leading public cardiac institute. During his tenure there, he was responsible for a number of firsts in the state's cardiac care, including Gujarat's first Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty (BAV), Balloon Mitral Valvotomy (BMV), and device closures for VSD, PDA, and ASD. He also played a central role in ushering in the modern era of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Gujarat, coordinating the regular presence of leading national and international faculty in the state for training and knowledge exchange - work that helped shape a generation of the state's interventional cardiologists.
He later founded Apollo CVHF with a single conviction: that Ahmedabad and Gujarat deserved a cardiac centre built exclusively for heart and vascular disease, not as a department within a general hospital, but as a facility where every resource, every specialist, and every clinical decision is centred on the cardiovascular patient.
